Experiment 3

THE MASHUPS OF THREE NEWS ARTICLE

The challenge for transparent architecture, which was gaining popularity with the rise of the International Style was unwanted heat. By better using the visible parts of daylight while excluding unwanted heat, we can reduce the amount of energy required for lighting. By minimizing the interior lighting and illuminating the surrounding lawn and trees, the cosmic scenes of day and night appear mysteriously together. Incorporating more daylight into our buildings helps us maintain the deep relationship we have with the natural universe. In a building with ample natural light, people see and feel the rhythm of the day, the time of day, the weather patterns and a sense of season. The rhythms of daylight help to draw people further into a contemplative state. The sun emits aperiodic rhythms, the rotation of the Earth, the tilt of the Earth’s axis and ever-changing weather conditions mean that each intervals of the day produces a different level, and even a different color, of natural light. The irregular rhythm of light and shadow appears like a musical composition. The skill of day-lighting lies in working with the principles of design and with daylight analysis, in testing how light serves to perceive the environment. It lies in understanding the visual interplay of light, and how in turn stimulates the body and spirit. Daylight design opens the possibility of the interplay of "Focal glow, ambient luminescence and play of brilliants, that enhanced the character of the building. It leads to the creation of buildings that open the soul to poetic realms rather than offering repetitive rhythms of engineered lighting systems.

New Electroliquid Aggregation Concept

My new electroliquid aggregation concept is "Simplicity amplifies the threshold" . The new-formed concept helped me strategically locate my light rail stop in a location that is prominent to the potential commuters located along the streets on Anzac Parade.

Derived from the concept of simplicity amplifies the context, I designed an outreaching shelter to welcome the potential commuters in close proximity of the site to the light rail stop. The use of bright colors further enhances my design concept by instilling a sense of delight that draws the nearby commuters into the light rail stop.

My second concept "Undefined Threshold" inspired me to transform the amalgamation of my discrete forms into a space that contains light rail seating, directory, as well as a monumental landmark for the light rail stop. I also placed an extra emphasis on how the potential commuters will use the space. These examples are the boundaries lines and signage along the edges of the platform used to guide the commuters to the directory board as well as a safety guideline to prevent accident.

By choosing technology as my theme, it inspire me to use simple discrete forms at a macro scale to form my digital panels to display the arrival time of the light rail to improve their experience.
