Hi Chris, is this the sort of example of process do you need. I used the product of my client which is givenchy which I get inspired is by the shape of the star that they extensively used to design their product as it soon became a brand image. My building wishes to carry that image by incorporating the design of the star and the company colour scheme into my design to make it more extra-ordinary. Please kindly leave me a comment. Thank you.
Sheng that is a fine explanation but there is one problem... There is no reference to anything you've been taught by Russell. What you have said above is a perfectly good rational but it has an underlying message of 'i decided to go find my own way of designing a building'. What happened to the verb, noun and adjective that you started with? Where is the section that abstracted the essence of each of those words? Where is the draft sketchup model you extrapolated from your sketch section? Where are the textures made from your list of words? I dont want you to go off on your own tangent (as nice a tangent as it might be!), try to stay on task. If in doubt refer back to the assignment brief on russelllowe.com or the assessment criteria. You obviously have the skills necessary for design... Now channell that into the framework that has been set out for you. Imagine if i ask you to design me a 3 bedroom cottage with a fireplace and you bring me back a design of a beautiful 15 storey art gallery... Do you see my point?

I have the sketches with me here. I just bought a new sketchbook because I want to transfer my sections into my new sketchbook that I bought. I will show it to you on wednesday.
ReplyDeleteAnd to add on onto something I have drawn the door of my building quite similar to the texture design that I have drawn. I used the word Opaque because I want it to have an extremely firm look that suits the logo of the buiding
